Bimini Bay Marina Completed

Constructed by Washington-based Bellingham Marine and using the company's unique Unifloat design, the new marina can accommodate vessels up to 203 feet in length. The Unifloat system is consistent with Bimini Bay Resort's other marina, which includes safeguards to protect water quality and the environment.

In addition, Bimini Bay Resort's marinas offer in-slip sewage pump-out services and prohibit overboard flushing of holding tanks, further protecting local water quality.

"The Bahamas is seeing tremendous growth in the need for quality boat slips, especially those that can house mega yachts," said Rafael Reyes, president of Bimini Bay Resort and Marina. "Just as we have done with other developments at the resort, we wanted to ensure the new marina offers exceptional accommodations to our guests while being environmentally sensitive. Bellingham's Unifloat dock system was selected for the dock system's ability to provide increased habitat for marine life and to promote improved water quality."

The mega yacht market is being strategically targeted in the Bahamas because of available space and the country's natural tourism appeal.
