Temenos Golf Club Opens at St. Regis Resort and Residences in Anguilla
On Friday, November 3, an official ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the much-anticipated opening of Temenos Golf Club at the St. Regis Resort and Residences, Temenos Anguilla. The opening of the spectacular Greg Norman-designed course, the first on Anguilla, was by all accounts, a resounding success.
In fact, the team of Peter, Paul and Dayssi Olarte Kanavos of Flag Luxury Development turned what could have been a circus-type event into a portentous affair. The ambrosial island cuisine, courtesy of Zurra, the club’s new Mediterranean-influenced restaurant managed by renowned restaurateurs, authors and lifestyle experts, Bob and Melinda Blanchard, definitely had a Blanchard’s flair and included the wondrous seafood offerings of the waters off Anguilla.
Of many impressive things about the event and the guests who attended it, perhaps most impressive is the fact that, unlike most developments which are primarily made up of investors, most everyone we talked to is committed to being a part of the Temenos community and spending a lot of time on property.
We are looking forward to working with the exceptional Kanavos team to host another extraordinary event at Temenos.
Among the celebrated guests at the event: Emmy award-winning sportscaster and NFL superstar, Ahmad Rashad, noted author, Dan Brown, (The DaVinci Code), golfer Scott Hoch and, of course, golf’s famous shark, Greg Norman. 6:30p: Opening celebratory dinner to launch the new Blanchard’s restaurant at the Temenos Golf Clubhouse
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3
7:00a: Continental breakfast at the club followed by a ribbon cutting of the new golf course
8:00a: Shotgun start of the Temenos Invitational Tournament featuring the play of golf great, Greg Norman
1:30p: Luncheon and awards presentation after which there will be time to enjoy some of the world’s best beaches, a tour of the island, snorkeling, scuba diving or a private spa appointment
6:30p: Casual island dinner, sunset cocktails and a beach bonfire at St. Regis Temenos Villas on Long Bay
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 4
9:00a: First Annual Founders Cup Golf Tournament held for all sponsors, players and home owners
2:30p: Luncheon and Awards presentation at the Temenos Clubhouse
